Chandigarh, May 5
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today termed Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s visit to the President along with AAP MLAs as a “political drama,” saying it is nothing but an attempt to divert public attention from real issues. He said such theatrics are resorted to when a government has no answers to offer.
Chugh said the ground situation in Punjab is extremely alarming. Government employees are not receiving salaries on time, DA installments remain pending, and despite spending crores of rupees, the sanitation system has collapsed. Garbage heaps across cities stand as testimony to the government’s failure.
Chugh alleged that Punjab is today trapped in a web of corruption, extortion, and illegal recoveries. The drug menace continues to grow, while law and order has completely deteriorated. The promise of Rs. 1000 per month to women remains unfulfilled, and there is no visible progress in agriculture, education, or healthcare sectors.
Chugh said that to hide these failures, the Mann government is indulging in “scripted filmi drama” in Delhi. He questioned why the Chief Minister remained silent when Punjab’s rights were being compromised earlier, and why this sudden activism is being displayed now.
Chugh said the people of Punjab have now understood the complete reality and will not accept such “drama politics.” AAP is heading towards internal breakdown, and the people are ready for change.
