Una/Chintpurni, November 2
Bharatiya Janata Party Himachal Pradesh President Dr. Rajeev Bindal launched a sharp attack on the Congress and other opposition parties while addressing the BJP IT Cell State Executive Committee meeting held at Mata Chintpurni in Una district. He said that Congress was attempting to create a false narrative that democracy was under threat, whereas its own political position was increasingly vulnerable due to its negative politics and repeated electoral failures.
“Democracy is not in danger. It is Congress’s position in the opposition that is in danger. The people of India have recognised your negative politics, and the time may come when they will not leave you enough seats even to sit in the opposition,” Dr. Bindal asserted. BJP National Joint General Secretary (Organisation) Shiv Prakash attended the meeting as a special guest and provided organisational guidance to IT Cell office-bearers and workers.
Former Minister and MLA Vikram Thakur, BJP State General Secretary (Organisation) Siddharthan, State IT Cell Convenor Anil Dadwal, Delhi IT Chief Puneet Agarwal and several senior party functionaries were also present.
Dr. Bindal alleged that Congress and its allies were repeatedly questioning constitutional institutions because they were unable to accept electoral defeats. He said that by raising allegations against Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the Election Commission, Congress was attempting to create distrust among citizens regarding India’s democratic processes. He maintained that the country’s approximately 140 crore citizens had understood the political intentions behind these campaigns.
Referring to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Dr. Bindal said that Congress had lost power because of public dissatisfaction with its governance, corruption allegations and policy failures. He said that during the Congress-led government’s tenure, the country faced serious challenges relating to terrorist attacks, corruption scandals, women’s safety, unemployment and the difficulties confronting farmers.
“Instead of learning from its defeat in 2014 and examining the reasons behind public dissatisfaction, Congress chose to blame EVMs. Even today, the party continues to question democratic institutions rather than introspect,” he said.
Dr. Bindal described the BJP IT Cell as an important pillar of the party’s organisational strength and public communication network. He said that the meeting focused on strengthening digital outreach, improving coordination among IT workers and effectively communicating the achievements of the Central Government and the party’s organisational activities.
Under the guidance of National Joint General Secretary (Organisation) Shiv Prakash, detailed discussions were held on expanding the IT Cell’s presence and effectiveness down to the booth level. Dr. Bindal said that BJP’s digital volunteers would highlight the alleged failures of the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh and present facts concerning its unfulfilled election guarantees, unemployment, rising prices and the condition of development projects. He urged IT Cell workers to prioritise factual information, constructive communication and effective use of digital platforms to strengthen the organisation.
“Every IT Cell worker must become a strong bridge between the organisation and the people. Through effective digital communication and booth-level coordination, we will strengthen the BJP and work towards forming the next government in Himachal Pradesh in 2027,” Dr. Bindal said. He reiterated that the BJP would continue questioning the Congress government on public-interest issues and demanding accountability for the promises made to the people of Himachal Pradesh.
