Shimla, April 21

In preparation for the upcoming Municipal and Panchayati Raj elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has launched a massive organizational drive across Himachal Pradesh, finalizing its poll machinery. According to orders issued by BJP State Office Secretary Pramod Thakur, after extensive deliberations with the top state leadership, detailed announcements of election in‑charges and committees have been made at the municipal, district, and state levels—making it clear that the BJP is set to fight these elections in mission mode.

For the Municipal Corporation polls, Pawan Kajal, Sudhir Sharma, and Sachin Sharma have been entrusted with Dharamshala; Vipin Parmar, Rajesh Thakur, Trilok Kapoor, and Ragini Rakwal with Palampur; Payal Vaidya, Anil Sharma, Inder Singh Gandhi, and Nihal Chand Sharma with Mandi; while Solan has been assigned a full team including Sanjeev Katwal, Balbir Verma, Rashmidhar Sood, Vandana Yogi, Ratan Singh Pal, Dr. Rajesh Kashyap, and Shailendra Gupta.

At the state level, a committee has been formed for Panchayati Raj and municipal elections, with leaders like Vipin Singh Parmar, Randhir Sharma, Balbir Verma, Vinod Kumar, Rakesh Jamwal, Trilok Jamwal, and Bihari Lal Sharma tasked with overseeing the execution of strategy across Himachal.

The BJP has also erected a wide organizational structure at the district level, appointing in‑charges, co‑incharges, MPs, MLAs, former ministers, district presidents, general secretaries, and office‑bearers of various fronts. From Chamba to Kangra, Palampur to Lahaul‑Spiti, Kullu to Mandi, Hamirpur to Una, Bilaspur to Sirmaur, Solan to Shimla, Kinnaur to Dehra, and Mahasu—every district has been assigned a comprehensive team of leaders and workers to manage the polls.

Through this sweeping organizational framework, the BJP has signaled that it will contest not only urban local body elections but also Panchayati Raj polls with full strength and strategy. Responsibilities have been fixed from senior leaders down to the booth level, giving the party’s election management a strong foundation.

The BJP leadership believes this organizational consolidation will give the party a decisive edge, converting public anger against the Congress government’s anti‑people policies into support for the BJP. It is evident that the party has thrown its full weight into the electoral battlefield and, at the organizational level, has already surged several steps ahead of Congress.
