Shergill urges MEA, Jaishankar to rescue stranded Iranian Sikh families

New Delhi, April 30

BJP National Spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill has urged the Ministry of External Affairs to assist several elderly Iranian Sikh couples stranded at a Gurudwara in Tehran. He highlighted that a Mahan Air flight scheduled for May 5 is reportedly denying them boarding without Government of India clearance and urged External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to facilitate their safe travel to India. Taking to his X handle, Shergill stated, “Request MEA India to assist a few elderly Iranian Sikh couples who are stranded in Gurudwara Saab, Tehran, Iran. An aircraft operated by Mahaan Airways is scheduled to operate from Tehran to India on 5th May but the Airline is refusing to take them onboard without the permission of GOI. Requesting  Dr. S. Jaishankar ji to kindly and assist the Sikh families.”
