Dhami’s Jan Sunwai: Governance at doorstep, relief on the spot

Dehradun, April 25

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday listened to the grievances of citizens from across the state at the Chief Sevak Sadan, located at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. During the session, he directly interacted with the public, took their issues seriously, and resolved several matters on the spot.

The Chief Minister issued immediate directions on matters related to roads, drinking water, health, education and financial assistance, instructing officials to ensure that public-interest cases are addressed on a priority basis with timely and effective disposal. He further directed that there should be no unnecessary delays in resolving problems and that regular monitoring of each case must be ensured.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government’s objective is to make governance and administration sensitive, accountable and transparent to provide quick relief to the people. He added that public hearings are a powerful medium of dialogue between the government and the people, which not only ensures speedy resolution of issues but also brings continuous improvement in the functioning of governance.

On this occasion, office bearers of the Uttarakhand Film, Television and Radio Association presented a felicitation letter to the Chief Minister, expressing gratitude for the implementation of an effective and visionary film policy in the state. They said the new film policy is positioning Uttarakhand as a major destination for film production, creating new opportunities for local artists, technicians, and youth.

Under the aegis of the Jan Jagran Abhiyan Committee, girl students from various schools prepared attractive posters based on 15 excellent schemes run by the state government and presented them before the Chief Minister. The students expressed gratitude for the benefits these schemes are providing to different sections of society.

Appreciating their efforts, the Chief Minister said such creative activities not only raise awareness among students but also make them sensitive to issues related to society and governance. He added that the state government is continuously working in the fields of education, women’s empowerment, and youth development, and remains committed to the upliftment of all sections of society through welfare schemes in the future as well.

On this occasion, IG Garhwal Rajeev Swaroop, Additional Secretary J.C. Kandpal, Additional Commissioner Garhwal Uttam Singh Chauhan and officials from the Chief Minister’s Office were present.
