Chandigarh, October 26
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that through the Ramayana, Maharishi Valmiki introduced the world to the ideals of Maryada Purushottam Lord Sri Ram. His composition is not merely an epic but a timeless guide that shows humanity the path to living a righteous life. The teachings of Maharishi Valmiki inspire us to cultivate patience, hard work, unwavering faith, compassion, education and social harmony.
Saini was addressing the state-level birth anniversary celebration of Maharishi Valmiki, organised at Sant Kabir Kutir under the Sant Mahapurush Prachar-Prasar Yojana on Sunday. He paid floral tributes to the statue of Maharishi Valmiki, bowed in reverence and extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Prakash Parv. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also announced Rs. 31 lakh for the Valmiki hostel under construction in Hisar and said that he would visit the site soon for the foundation-laying ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Saini said that Maharishi Valmiki was a great saint who lit the lamp of knowledge in times of darkness. He provided shelter to Mata Sita at his ashram during a difficult period and also imparted quality education and values to her children. Education and values helped them develop a distinct identity. He said that the life of Maharishi Valmiki teaches us that no matter how difficult the circumstances may be, one should never lose patience.
Citing the example of Lord Sri Ram’s life, the Chief Minister said that when Lord Ram was supposed to be crowned king, he was instead sent into exile. However, he remained patient, accepted the circumstances and moved forward. The Ramayana teaches us that any goal can be achieved through patience, hard work and unwavering faith.
