Patiala Foundation observed the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2025 at Road Victims Memorial – an initiative established in association with Patiala Media Club, and the District Administration, Patiala. The gathering honored the lives lost in road crashes, extended solidarity to their families, and renewed collective commitment towards making mobility safer for all.
The global theme being, “Remember, Act and Support” is at the heart of Patiala Foundation’s mission whereby we remember the victims of road crashes and support their families, advocate working for safer mobility and actively promote the adoption of safer road behaviors. In alignment with this theme, Patiala Foundation has consistently worked to create a safer and more responsible road environment. Over the years, the organization has conducted Road Safety Sensitization Programs for Journalists, Drawing Competitions, Road Safety Awareness Lectures, CHIPKAR Road Safety Camps, LOOK Campaign, and several other impactful initiatives that encourage reflection, behavioral change, and stronger public participation in road safety. Every month the maintenance of RVM is undertaken by the members and volunteers of the Foundation to commemorate the memory of our loved ones that we lost to road crashes.
Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Ravee Singh Ahluwalia, Founder and CEO, Patiala Foundation, “World Day of Remembrance is not just a day of reflections and remembrance but is a powerful call to action. Every life lost on the road is a reminder of our shared responsibility. Through our Road Victims Memorial and our sustained awareness activities, we aim to ensure that the memories of the victims inspire safer choices, compassionate support, and a collective resolve to prevent further tragedies”. He acknowledged the commendable efforts of traffic police, police forces, and medical professionals, who manage the aftermath of road crashes with dedication and resilience.
The event witnessed the presence of Harinder Singh Mann, PPS, SP Traffic, Babandeep Singh, PCS, Regional Transport Officer, Gurpreet Singh Walia SC MC Patiala. Arun Gupta and other Family members and Friends of the road victims, Members of Patiala Media Club, HS Ahluwalia, Harpreet Sandhu, Pawan Goyal, Dr. Karan Dang, Dr. Nidhi Sharma, the members of Patiala Foundation, and dedicated volunteers Aditya Jasrotia, Satnam Singh, Jaskaran Singh, Kawalpreet, Sanyam, Rudraksh Singh and other members of NSS and Legal Aid Clinic RGNUL, who collectively paid homage at the memorial. The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the urgent need to prioritize road safety and to support families who have faced irreparable loss.
Patiala Foundation reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to empowering communities, engaging students, sensitizing drivers, and advocating for responsible road usage, ensuring that the memories of road crash victims inspire continuous action towards safer roads.
