New Delhi, January 20
After becoming the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Nitin Nabin delivered his first address to party workers and leaders. He said that a person becomes truly great only when they connect with the emotions of the people. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s service as an inspiration for all and recalled how J.P. Nadda strengthened the organization during his tenure.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, when people were safe inside their homes, BJP workers stepped out to serve society whenever called upon by the party president. While the opposition remained confined indoors, BJP workers were dedicated to public service”, Nabin said while emphasizing, “Politics is not a shortcut. It is not about speed—it is about stamina.”
Nabin remembered all former national presidents of the party. He recalled his journey since 2006, when he first became an MLA and how leaders like Rajnath Singh always worked closely with party workers, while Nitin Gadkari fulfilled organizational goals with determination. He paid tribute to the countless workers who sacrificed for Bharat Mata, saying he comes from the land where Mahatma Buddha, Mahavira, Jayaprakash Narayan, and Emperor Ashoka were born. He bowed to his parents and the people of his constituency, calling this moment one of solemn resolve to uphold the party’s ideals and traditions and carry them forward.
Nabin highlighted that today, when one rupee is sent from Delhi, it reaches the poor directly into their accounts—made possible through Jan Dhan Yojana. He recalled slogans once raised, “Ram Lalla hum aayenge, mandir wahin banayenge” and “Kashmir hamara hai.” These have now been realized—Ram Mandir has been built, Ram Lalla consecrated, Article 370 abrogated and the tricolor proudly flies at Lal Chowk.
Nabin contrasted this with earlier times when Pakistan’s flags were raised in Kashmir while Delhi’s government sat silently. “Times have changed,” he said. “The atmosphere in Kashmir has transformed, and Lal Chowk now waves with the tricolor. We work with the slogan: Nation First.”
Nabin urged everyone to realize the vision of a developed India as imagined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said this generation of workers must strive with determination to achieve it. “Politics is not a 100-meter sprint. It is a long marathon where stamina matters more than speed. Youth must participate with endurance, not haste.”
Nabin acknowledged the challenges of upcoming elections in five states where demographics are shifting and called on the party to emerge as a strong force in all of them. He invoked Vande Mataram, saying its remembrance fills the heart with energy. He urged that the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram be taken to every household, as it embodies the faith that inspires the nation to march forward with zeal. “Let us all come together to realize the dream of a developed India. Let us fulfill the vision of nation-building”, he asserted.
