Randhawa Suicide Case: Resignation of Minister Bhullar not enough, says Pargat

Chandigarh, March 21

Former Education Minister and MLA Pargat Singh said that merely taking the resignation of Aam Aadmi Party’s Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar is not sufficient. Legal action should also be taken against Bhullar, and a case of abetment to suicide should be registered against him. The suicide case of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, District Manager posted in Amritsar under the government agency Warehousing Corporation, should be thoroughly investigated by central agencies. Furthermore, the assets of all Aam Aadmi Party MLAs and ministers should also be examined. Accountability of the government must be ensured.

Pargat alleged that this incident exposes the extent to which leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party—who project themselves as champions of honesty—are steeped in corruption. He said that under the government of Bhagwant Singh Mann, everyone is distressed, and the situation has worsened to the point where officials are being forced to commit suicide. Government officers are working under fear and are being subjected to excessive pressure. This has already been revealed in a 12-second video.

Pargat further stated that when party chief Arvind Kejriwal was acquitted by a lower court, the party widely promoted itself as the most honest and people-centric party. However, the truth is now evident. He added that under AAP rule, no one in Punjab feels safe. He urged Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to cooperate with investigative agencies instead of trying to protect himself and his party.

Pargat also said that Punjab is already struggling with drug abuse and gangsterism. Drugs are claiming the lives of youth, and despite government campaigns, the issue remains uncontrolled. Similarly, gangsters are harassing major businessmen, doctors, singers, and politicians by demanding ransom and even killing them in broad daylight. He emphasized that the law and order situation in Punjab is in a dire state and urged the government to take strict measures to prevent such incidents.
