Patiala, May 27
Patiala Foundation in collaboration with Kataline Ltd. for a dynamic Road Safety Awareness and Reflective Vest Distribution Drive today at Rajindra Gymkhana & Maharani Club, Patiala. Powered by Project SADAK and Kataline Glow for Life, the event equipped nighttime workers with vital visibility gear and ignited concern for proactive road safety.
Project SADAK, led by Patiala Foundation, continues to advance community driven road safety awareness through outreach programmes, educational initiatives, public engagement campaigns, and distribution drives focused on visibility and responsible mobility. Over the years, the Foundation has consistently advocated for preventive safety practices and sustainable public welfare initiatives across Punjab.
KATALINE Ltd., recognised for its expertise in road safety materials, infrastructure visibility systems, and reflective safety solutions, continues to support interventions aimed at improving safety standards at both institutional and community levels. Through “Kataline Glow for Life”, the organisation seeks to strengthen visibility-based protection measures for vulnerable road users and frontline workers.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Prof (Dr.) Jai S.Singh, Vice Chancellor Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. He supported the distribution of Reflective Safety Jackets to the Guards and Housekeeping staff of the University by the Patiala Foundation, and was attended by Dr. Ivneet Walia, Registrar, RGNUL Punjab, who appreciated the collaborative initiative and emphasized the importance of reflective safety measures for institutional staff members. She highlighted that the use of reflective jackets significantly contributes towards visibility and preventive safety, especially for workers who remain actively engaged in outdoor and roadside duties.
The Registrar lauded the efforts of Patiala Foundation towards promoting a culture of road safety awareness and collective responsibility. Dr. Manoj Sharma (Associate Professor, RGNUL, Punjab) and other office bearers of the University also graced the occasion and extended their support to the initiative. Vests were also handed over to the members of the Road Safety Cell of the ProBono Club of the University so that the students can take the message of road safety further through their activities. The club operates under the aegis of the Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravee Singh Ahluwalia, Founder and CEO of Patiala Foundation, stated, “Visibility should never be treated as a concern limited only to low-light or nighttime conditions. Roads today are crowded, fast-moving, and unpredictable even during the daytime. Reflective jackets enhance the ability of motorists and commuters to identify workers from a greater distance, thereby reducing avoidable risks and reaction delays. Much like a helmet, reflective gear too must be recognised as an essential safety equipment. Prevention begins with being visible.” He further emphasized that road safety requires a culture of proactive adoption of protective measures rather than reactive responses after accidents occur.
The initiative aligns with the broader objectives of public safety, sustainable communities, and collaborative welfare-oriented engagement reflected in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3, SDG 11, and SDG 17. Patiala Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the members and representatives of KATALINE Ltd. Mr. Karan Joshi, (Business Development Manager, Punjab). The event was supported with enthusiasm by our star volunteer Satnam Singh, Ravinder Singh, along with the intern of Patiala Foundation from FLAME University Armita Sohi. The members of the Foundation, Mr. Anmoljit Singh, Dr. Abhinandan Bassi also graced the occasion. The event outlines yet another step taken by Patiala Foundation in creating safer roads for all.
Patiala Foundation expressed its gratitude towards the administration of RGNUL Punjab, representatives of KATALINE Ltd., volunteers, and all supporting members who contributed towards making the initiative meaningful and impactful. The event marked yet another step towards fostering safer institutional environments and strengthening awareness regarding adoption of visibility-based road safety practices in Punjab.
