Chandigarh, October 23
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab received a further boost on Thursday as Ramesh Grover, a senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader and prominent senior advocate from Moga, joined the party. Welcoming Grover into the BJP family, Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon said his induction would further strengthen the party in Moga and the surrounding areas. Moga district president Harjot Kamal was also present on the occasion.
Before joining the Shiromani Akali Dal, Grover had served as the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) district president and as the in-charge of its Legal Cell for the Faridkot Zone. He also contested the 2017 Punjab Assembly election from the Moga constituency as an AAP candidate. In addition, he has served multiple terms as president of the Bar Council.
Dhillon said Grover had established a distinct identity in the legal profession as well as in social and political life. Through his longstanding engagement with the public, he had earned a respected place in the community. His experience and strong public connections would prove valuable to the party, Dhillon added. He said people from different walks of life were joining the BJP, inspired by its policies and the progress India had achieved under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This, he said, reflected growing public confidence in the party’s policies and its commitment to public welfare.
Dhillon said every leader and worker joining the BJP was accorded due respect and recognition. The party’s primary objective was to work for Punjab’s progress, prosperity and the welfare of its people. He expressed confidence that Grover would play an important role in taking the party’s policies to the public and contributing to the betterment of Punjab. He added that the people of Punjab saw the BJP as a source of hope for a better future. With the continued support and trust of the people, the BJP would form a majority government in Punjab in 2027, Dhillon asserted.
