Ludhiana, March 4
Media Head Punjab and Chief Spokesperson of Nasha Mukti Morcha, Baltej Pannu, today visited an anti-drug crusader undergoing treatment at Mohan Dai Hospital, here. The activist was recently injured in an alleged attack by individuals involved in drug peddling. During the visit, Pannu extended solidarity and support to the whistleblower and their family. He reiterated that the state is leading a decisive battle under the flagship campaign Yudh Nashya Virudh which is now in its final and most intensive phase.
“The Punjab Government is waging a relentless and multi-dimensional war against drug peddlers and smugglers. We will completely eliminate this curse from Punjab,” Pannu stated. He assured that the government is providing full support to the victim’s family and that he would personally remain in constant touch to offer every possible assistance during the recovery process.
Pannu also issued a stern warning to drug peddlers either leave Punjab or face severe and uncompromising action. “We will not rest until the drug menace is eradicated entirely from the state”, he said, while adding that the Punjab government has already intensified efforts through widespread arrests, property attachments and convictions under the NDPS Act and community involvement via around 1.5 lakh Nasha Mukti Morcha volunteers.
