Rahul Gandhi flags off ‘Run for Ambedkar, Run for Constitution’ marathon

New Delhi, April 12

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi flagged off the ‘Run for Ambedkar, Run for the Constitution’ marathon here today. Thousands of people participated in the marathon, which aimed to spread the message of Dr BR Ambedkar and the Constitution of the country.

Addressing the participants on the occasion, Rahul Gandhi said that Dr Ambedkar’s message was the message of the Constitution and if the Constitution was not there, the country would not exist in its present form. “Without the Constitution, what we call India would not exist,” he remarked.

The senior Congress leader said that people with the ideology of the RSS and the BJP want to destroy the ideas of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and the Constitution of India. “Whatever they say or do, their ultimate aim is to finish the Constitution”, he said, adding, “they don’t want that everyone should be treated at par in India”.

Gandhi thanked all the participants who had come from different places to take part in the marathon and help spread the message of the Constitution while remembering Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
