Dehradun, June 23
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that the convenience of devotees during the Char Dham and Hemkunt Sahib Yatra remains the state’s top priority, urging people to stay away from rumors. He welcomed pilgrims and tourists across Uttarakhand, inviting them to enjoy the spiritual and natural heritage of Devbhoomi in peace. Addressing recent incidents in Karnaprayag and Nagarasu, he assured impartial investigations and strict action against those found guilty.
Dhami highlighted that over 4 million devotees have already visited the Char Dham shrines this season, while Hemkunt Sahib has recorded 25,000 more visitors compared to last year in its initial days. He also noted Uttarakhand’s pride in hosting three major Sikh pilgrimage sites—Hemkunt Sahib, Reetha Sahib, and Nanakmatta Sahib—where large numbers of devotees arrive annually.
The Chief Minister warned against spreading misleading or inflammatory information on social media, stressing that legal action will be taken against offenders. He called for maintaining social harmony, underlining that all religions have contributed to the nation’s progress. He reiterated that Uttarakhand’s sacred sites are centers of faith and inspiration, and any act that harms dignity or religious sentiments will not be tolerated. Dialogue, harmony, and mutual respect, he said, are the only ways to resolve issues.
The meeting was attended by Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee President Hemant Dwivedi, Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust President Narendra Jeet Singh Bindra, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Additional Chief Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, DGP Deepam Seth, Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, DG Intelligence & Security Abhinav Kumar, IG Riddhim Aggarwal, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, and Additional Secretary Tripti Bhatt.
