Chandigarh, June 30
Prof. Vivek Lal, Director of PGIMER, honoured sixteen officers and officials on their superannuation today, acknowledging their years of dedicated service to the Institute. In his address, Prof. Lal praised their commitment and contributions, presenting mementos as a mark of gratitude. The ceremony was attended by senior faculty and administrative leaders including Prof. Sanjay Jain, Dean (Research); Prof. Sanjeev Handa, Sub-Dean (Academics); Prof. Ashok Kumar, Medical Superintendent; Pankaj Rai, IAS, Deputy Director (Administration); Prof. Mini P. Singh from the Department of Virology; Prof. H. S. Kohli from Nephrology; Prof. Akshay Saxena, Acting Head of Radiodiagnosis; Prof. Neelam Taneja, Head of Medical Microbiology; Lt. Col. G. S. Bhatti, Superintending Hospital Engineer; Jaspal Kaur, Chief Nursing Officer and Pawan Kumar, Sanitation Officer. Ravinder Singh, IA&AS, Financial Advisor, distributed the retirement financial payment letters to the retiring employees.
Among those retiring were Prof. R. K. Ratho, Dean (Academics) and Head of Virology, along with nursing superintendents, technical officers, lab technicians, hospital attendants, and sanitation staff, each of whom rendered between seven and thirty-eight years of service. Their contributions spanned critical departments including emergency care, neurosurgery, nephrology, radiodiagnosis, microbiology, psychiatry, and sanitation. The event reflected PGIMER’s tradition of honouring its workforce and recognizing the invaluable role played by its officers and staff in sustaining the Institute’s excellence in patient care, teaching, and research.
