Reacting sharply to repeated assertions by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring—who has alleged a “secret understanding” between AAP and BJP—the State General Secretary of the saffron party launched a blistering counterattack on the Congress chief, declaring, “Warring is himself batting for AAP and is shamelessly peddling absurd statements.”
Sarin remarked, “AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi share a common stage. AAP remained an alliance partner of the ‘INDIA’ alliance. Beyond this, they had even forged a government in Delhi through a formal agreement.” He added that, in light of these undeniable facts, it is utterly ridiculous that Warring continues to indulge in politics that is completely devoid of any basis.
Further commenting on the issue, Sarin asserted, “As the principal opposition party in Punjab, Congress has failed miserably in holding the ruling government accountable. The reason is clear—Warring fears that his file relating to an alleged scam may be reopened and therefore maintains an internal settlement with the AAP.”
Sarin added that the BJP is a principled party and does not indulge in any such secret agreements, as alleged by Warring. “When an agreement is made with someone, they are openly acknowledged as our NDA partner,” he declared. Launching yet another blistering attack, Sarin asserted, “Warring is indulging in proxy politics, which in fact is the hallmark of Congress culture, not the culture of the Bharatiya Janata Party.” Despite repeated attempts, Warring did not respond to The News Gateway’s calls.
