BJP Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh today strongly criticised Lok Sabha leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and AICC president Kharge for insulting the Constitution practices and bringing shame to the nation by not taking part in the Red Fort celebrations of Independence Day.
Chugh said it underlines disruptive and anti-national intends of the Congress to disrupt the narrative of development in the country.
At same time the Gandhi family insulted Vande Mataram recitation at the party headquarters,
It once again exposes the Congress’s long history of showing disrespect towards our national song, Vande Mataram.
Today, on the very occasion of Independence Day, Sonia Gandhi’s reported objection to the complete rendition of Vande Mataram is deeply unfortunate.
Congress must stop making excuses and show respect to the national song that inspired generations of freedom fighters and, through the steps taken by PM Modi, will continue to inspire generations to come.
Vande Mataram is not a matter of political convenience. It is an emotion of Bharat and a timeless symbol of our freedom struggle.
