Chandigarh, July 4
Chandigarh Member of Parliament and former Union Minister Manish Tewari inaugurated newly installed solar lights at the Grain Market in Sector 26. The project was funded through a grant of approximately ₹5 lakh released from his MPLADS development fund.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, MP Tewari said that the new solar lights would play a significant role in improving the convenience and safety of traders, workers, and visitors at the Grain Market. He noted that the market witnesses extensive commercial activity and that there had been a long-standing need for solar lighting in the area.
Tewari added that he has been consistently allocating grants for various development projects with the aim of providing better basic civic amenities to the residents of the city.
On the occasion, Chandigarh Congress Committee President H.S. Lucky thanked MP Tewari, stating that he has been continuously working to address the concerns and needs of the people.
The event was also attended by Grain Market Association President Mohit Sood, Krishan Lal, Dr. Khushpreet Kaur and other members of the Market Committee.
