Ludhiana, January 8
Police evacuated the Ludhiana Court complex on Thursday following heightened security concerns. While the official reason is yet to be confirmed, sources suggest the action is linked to a spate of bomb threats received via email across several cities in Punjab. This development comes just a day after a major intelligence-led operation in which the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), SAS Nagar, in coordination with Counter Intelligence Ludhiana, apprehended two Ludhiana-based suspects. The duo was allegedly planning a targeted killing under the direction of foreign handlers. A 9MM pistol and five live cartridges were recovered from their possession.
The official police version is still awaited.
