Chandigarh, March 19

Former Education Minister and MLA Pargat Singh stated that the Aam Aadmi Party government, which claims to be clean and honest, can no longer hide. “When even their own sarpanches and members of the Nasha Mukti (Drug-Free) committees are being caught in heroin trafficking worth crores of rupees, with possible links to Pakistani traffickers”, he claimed in a statement issued here today.

Pargat further said that the high-level drug trafficking should be investigated under the supervision of a central agency like the NCB or CBI or the High Court. “Such an investigation is necessary to expose the involvement and protection provided by Aam Aadmi Party leaders, both big and small, in this major drug racket. It is also crucial to reveal where the money earned from drugs is being invested. Is it being used to fund the party’s election campaigns,” he added.

The former Minister said that the question here is – can such a large drug trafficking racket operate without government backing? “Absolutely not. The Bhagwant Mann government is fully responsible for this, as the political alliance of drug traffickers is expanding. The government cannot mislead people by running a fake campaign. The Chief Minister must clarify whether this is the so-called “war against drugs” campaign. The government’s anti-drug drive is under question,”, said Pargat.

Pargat further said that earlier, over 18 kilograms of heroin were seized from AAP sarpanch and Nasha Mukti committee member Paramjit Singh and now more than 4.3 kilograms of heroin were seized from another AAP sarpanch, Lovpreet Singh, in the village of Kot Hirde Ram, Majitha, while adding, “The seizure of such a large quantity from sarpanches also raises questions about the policing system. It is necessary to connect the dots of this large-scale trafficking network to break it. This will also reveal how many “respectable” individuals and AAP leaders are involved in the network.”

Pargat added that people had given the Aam Aadmi Party a large majority in Punjab. “The party leadership had made many promises to Punjabis that have yet to be fulfilled. After enjoying four years of power, now the Bhagwant Mann government is engaged in running fake campaigns to mislead people. But it will not be able to fool the people of Punjab for much longer”, he concluded.
