Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday handed over appointment letters to 187 youth, including 182 candidates selected in the Uttarakhand PCS Main Examination 2024 and 5 candidates selected as Personal Assistants in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, at a program organized at the Chief Sevak Sadan, Chief Minister’s Camp Office.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated all the newly selected candidates, stating that the appointment letter is not merely a document of entry into government service, but a symbol of the trust, expectations, and commitment to public service of 1.25 crore people of Uttarakhand. He emphasized that an officer’s identity will now be defined not by their position, but by their working style, sensitivity, and dedication to public service.

The Chief Minister highlighted that around 1.5 lakh candidates applied for the PCS Main Examination 2024, with over 71,000 appearing, and only 182 being selected. He said this success reflects the talent, hard work, discipline, and determination of the selected candidates. He reminded that in a democracy, holding a position means serving the people, not ruling them. The state government is working with the mantra of simplification, resolution, disposal, and satisfaction. He urged the newly appointed officers to ensure that government schemes and services reach the last person in society with sensitivity and transparency. Every citizen, especially from remote areas, should experience respect, trust, and timely solutions in government offices.

The Chief Minister noted that the state has implemented the country’s strictest anti-cheating law to ensure complete transparency in recruitment processes, which has strengthened youth confidence in examinations. Over the past four and a half years, more than 34,000 youth have been appointed to government services with full transparency and fairness. With today’s 187 appointments, the government’s commitment to youth welfare has become even stronger.

CM reiterated that the government’s goal is to provide opportunities to every youth in Uttarakhand according to their talent and ability, so they are not forced to migrate outside the state for employment. He added that the government is working continuously to make the water and youth of the hills the greatest strength of Uttarakhand’s development.

The Chief Minister recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement from the sacred land of Baba Kedarnath that the third decade of the 21st century will be Uttarakhand’s decade. He said the newly appointed officers will play a vital role in realizing this vision. While governments make policies, it is the responsibility of officers and employees to implement them effectively on the ground. He called upon all officers to work with full dedication, honesty, and commitment for building a developed Uttarakhand.

CM assured that the state government will stand firmly with every officer and employee who works with integrity and impartiality. He urged them to discharge their duties free from any pressure, giving top priority to the Constitution, law, and public interest.
